Wild in New Orleans, Our Trip to the SIBA Conference

We’ve just settled back in from the Southern Independent Bookseller’s Association (SIBA) Conference in New Orleans and what a fabulous trip it was...

First and foremost we want to express our heartfelt thanks to SIBA and The Reba & Dave Williams Foundation for Literature & the Arts for providing Wild Iris Books with a substantial scholarship to attend.  We’re so grateful for the financial and emotional support.
We met amazing authors - Amy Tan, Jesym Ward, Elizabeth Gilbert, David Levithan, Lynn Waddell, Tim Federle, Dianne De La Casas, Andrea Beaty, and dozens and dozens more. We met with other book junkies and shared spirits and war stories, also sharing those moments of super-nerdy joy that booksellers hold deep in our hearts.

We studied too, learning new creative strategies to make our software work harder for us and exploring publishing options to keep on the future horizon.

But most importantly we reconnected with an amazing community of book lovers and now we’re full of new ideas, not to mention book and author recommendations!

That being said, the first thing you should do is come by the store and check out our SIBA Conference Display, full of autographed first editions.

All of these great titles are 20% off, our way of thanking you for giving these books a new and happy home.

And stay tuned for our Advanced Readers Club – we came back with way too many books to read ourselves, so we need your help.  We’ll be signing up reviewers and we have a mind blowing selection of not yet released copies for you to choose from.
