As luck would have it, I’m one of the owners of Wild Iris Books and the in-house psychic medium/channel/tarot reader.

When folks come into Wild Iris Books for a tarot psychic reading, their first question (other than ‘how much does it cost’) is, “How does all ‘this’ work?”
Lemme’ ‘splain…
Above all, it is important for you to know all readers in our store work strictly in, what is known in the woo-woo circles as, ‘the white light’.
Each of us has a profound belief in Spirit and work in harmony with the Universe so as to be able to communicate spiritual messages to you which are intended for your highest and best interest as well as our own.
And, so, we consider each tarot – psychic reading we give to be a “spiritual psychic reading”.
That being said, it’s important to note each of us has an equally profound belief in science and we do our due diligence to understand and stay current on emerging disciplines and studies which seek to blend the two paradigms.
My particular process is:
During your tarot psychic reading (whether here at Wild Iris Books or over the phone), it would not be unusual for me to take on the physical and emotional characteristics of your dead grandma Ethel or your live hamster – seriously .
Let’s say ol’ grams passed away of a heart attack.
I actually feel pain in my chest and ‘experience’ the heart attack grandma Ethel or your hamster had. Additionally, I might “see” either of these spirits just the same as I “see” you when you come in for a tarot psychic reading.
Likewise, let’s say you are feeling depressed, nervous or in love, it would not be unusual for me to actually feel the same.
Think of it as uber empathy.
There are any number of ways to describe this process. I refer to it as channeling spiritual messages.
Though it’s entirely possible I have spirit guides, currently, I believe I ‘get’ the spiritual message directly from Source or Spirit and the spiritual message manifests as real physical, emotional and mental “reactions”.
Sounds kooky and spooky, I know. Trust me, if anyone had told me three years ago I would be a professional psychic medium I would would’ve laughed at them and thought, “Wow. What a whacko!”
Now, I’m that “whacko”.
Please know I can never predict what energy (dead/live people and animals) will show up at a tarot psychic reading. This seems like a contradiction in terms given that I’m a psychic medium – believe me… this I know and, hey, I get tarot psychic readings too – but what can I tell you? This is how it works for me.
Just like we can’t control people in this life, nor can we when they go on to the next.
They show up when they choose and not a minute before…

My partner and I recently got a reading from Bernadette Carter, a psychic medium and one of the owners of Wild Iris Books. Not only was the reading thorough and extremely helpful to us both, but it was also the most accurate reading either one of us has ever gotten in our entire lives, hands down.
Bernadette is an incredible channel. Her psychic and mediumship abilities are very clear and unobstructed, and she clearly has a great relationship with her cards, because uncannily precise cards just kept coming up for us!
She’s also a wonderful sounding board. A reading from Bernadette gives you the opportunity to tap in to the breadth of her experience and understanding to help you turn that personal power card right side up, or overcome whatever challenges come up in the reading. I first found Bernadette in Febuary and went to get a reading from her. She gave me the most accurate, amazing reading.
Then about three weeks ago, weird things started happening. I thought I was literally being haunted. My radio would turn on in the middle of the night and would play really loud static for about two-three minutes and shut off. It was set on to play a tape but would play static. It really creeped me out.
After a few days of the creepy static in the middle of the night, I told my mom and sister that I thought I was being haunted and I was going to go to see Bernadette to see what was going on. That night, no more static, so I just shrugged it off to me going crazy and didn’t go to see Bernadette. My story should end here, but it doesn’t.
Since the static at night didn’t really force me to go, the spirit took another approach. Bernadette isn’t a common name for me to see or hear, especially in the Po Dunk town that I’m from.
Yet, her name appeared everywhere. On the radio, ‘Bernadette’ requested a song. After a movie or show, the producer or writer would be ‘Bernadette’. She was everywhere, so I had to go and see what was going on.
I went and made an appointment as soon as I could. Bernadette was spot on and I found out some things about myself and was offered guidance.
Oh, and found out who was bothering me… my grandma.
